Ratings & Reviews
We stayed here from April 8-15th and stayed in the lighthouse room 1B. First of all it was 3 bedrooms which was a bonus as we thought it was 2. The Infinity pool was where we spent a lot of our time soaking up the views, sun, and imbibing. We also traded our timeshare into 2 studios and 2 other couples joined us. The studios were updated and very nice and clean. The lighthouse room was clean and updated and a great place to stay. We were all impressed with the security as a person patrolled every hour! Parking was a little tight because we had a van rented. The staff was friendly from start to finish. We had no problems checking in and the free champagne was a nice welcome. The grocery store helped us keep our room stocked and had just enough of everything you would need. It was nice to be isolated on such a busy island. As much as we liked to drive around, the privacy of this place was well appreciated. Everything was great. The furniture in the lighthouse room was a little low to the ground in the living room area. We were all tall. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed watching the iguanas sunning on the rocks. This is a great place so reserve this room for a week and you will not be sorry. The property is nice too with the bigger infinity pool. It was sure nice having a private one! Good restaurants within walking distance and we drove around the island as well! Outstanding lighthouse room and nice studios as well!
People make this island. They are wonderful. It's a gem Direct flight from Phila was perfect too( only46 people on flight!) had a great meal on French side one night. Got lucky at a casino in the Westin too
We arrived April 8 and stayed until April 15th. We were first impressed with the lush tropical landscaping and the overall look of the resort. The reception area is open to the air and had plenty of ceiling fans to keep it cool. Beyond the reception area is a beautiful courtyard with chairs tables and umbrellas. Leaving the courtyard and walking through the bar, there is a outdoor plaza just above and next to the infinity pool. Then the best of all, the view of the ocean. Our room was not ready yet so we enjoyed the free champagne. Had a couple of beers at the bar then our room was ready. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite which had a excellent view of the ocean and upon opening the sliding glass door to the balcony, a gentle breeze and the sound of breaking waves. This balcony would soon become our go to spot when we were in the room. The rest of the suite met our needs most of the time. At night we opened the sliding glass doors and shut the screen doors (which shuts off the AC) to enjoy the breezes and sounds of the waves. In the mornings we strolled to the grocery for the fresh made croissants (Yummy). We went to Beau Beaus most of the time we ate out. Busbys, and Daniels (the same place) were good. One afternoon we went to the chicken rotisserie place (small white shed like) and bought their chicken, potato salad and rice.(Yum! and a great value). We enjoyed the infinity pool and the beach (a little seaweed). All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Not for us, We like the nightlife and go out to have a few tropical drinks, what the heck, it is a vacation, the bars close at 9:00pm. We can highly recommend this resort, but we will probably not be back (until we are much older) because of the closing time.
Oyster Bay Beach Resort is a great place to stay. It is clean and quiet. The staff are all friendly and efficient and the kitchen in your room has all the utensils that you need. The perfect place for a quiet relaxing vacation.
My Husband and I stayed here from the 11th-25 March 2017 in Room 3630. As owners at this resort since 2004 but never stayed before, you can imagine our disappointment when on arrival after a 20 hour journey (from bed to bed), we were put in a room that could only be classed as a three star. The room was small, shabby, mismatched, had a fridge freezer far too big for the room, which made a noise all the time and the curtains were dirty with no nets. The wardrobe (if you could call it that), had folding glass doors which did not shut properly and had seen better days. There were only 5 coat hangers for two people and everything, including an ironing board, iron and the safe were within the wardrobe. There was hardly any space for clothes. There was a chest of drawers with 5 drawers, so clothes had to be fitted in them. There was a two ring hot plate and microwave with minimal cutlery and crockery. There was a telephone and a flat screen TV, air conditioning and fan. This room was also reached by four flights of steps and NO LIFT. The bathroom had a nice shower cubicle and toiletries were included, White towels and flannels. A hairdryer was supplied. The bed was comfortable and had white bedding. The room was not what we bought and the only thing going for it was the balcony with a view of the beautiful marina. After showing our disgust at what an owner was given, we were moved two days later to Room l207. This room was what we paid money for. Although a studio, the room was a good size with lovely furnishings, decorated to a good standard with a good sized kitchen housing a sensibly sized fridge freezer, microwave, a four ringed hob and plenty of crockery, cutlery and enough pots and pans and a dishwasher. Also in the kitchen area there is a toaster, coffee maker and juicer. The room had a table with two chairs, a bed settee, a lovely sized wardrobe with 23 coat hangers, good drawer space, a side table and a flat screen TV. Good lighting and a telephone, air conditioning and white towelling. The room overlooks the ocean and has a good terrace with table and chairs. WiFi is free within the reception areas but has to be bought if you want it in your room. However, the Wifi is hit and miss in the free hot spots and is not cheap to buy for the rooms, so would probably be hit and miss there too. HOWEVER SINCE OUR RETURN TO THE UK, WE HAVE HAD NOTIFICATION THAT THROUGHOUT THE RESORT, THERE IS NOW FREE WIFI. The reception is open plan with very helpful staff. There is no money changing facilities for Sterling, but there is an ATM in the reception area and also a rental car facility. The resort itself is lovely. The grounds are well kept and to a good standard. The swimming pool is a good size with plenty of sun beds and the beach is very close by. On site there are two restaurants and close by another 3. There is also a small grocery store on site and a bigger one within walking distance. There is entertainment in one or the other of the restaurants most nights and entertainment during the day mainly around the pool area. The timeshare is quite a way from main areas and very expensive (compared to UK prices anyway) however it appears to be on parity with the rest of the Island for e.g. just to get to Philipsburg, the Capital, is $15 each way for two people and $5 for every extra person each way. Rental cars are available, which are approximately $400 a week including insurance and taxes for the smallest car. Transfer from the airport is $30.
