Really enjoyed our stay

We stayed at Mary's Boon for 8 nights in one of the basement rooms. Many people seem not to like them, from the reviews that I have read, but we did not mind it. Sure it be nice if they remodeled the room but I think, at least from our room, it was not bad at all. The room had few cracks in the ceilings and some discolorations in the bathroom and some other minor things, but nothing that would make us run away and find a different room/hotel. Plus the problems were minor and did not interfere with our stay. You just use it to sleep there and shower and maybe have food. The room was very spacious and had a very big bed. It also had a little kitchen that had a small stove, blender, toaster, microwave, fridge and even included some plates, utensils and cups, and even a bottle opener for your Presidente or Carib., and a table to enjoy your food at. There was even dish soap. It had a lot of dressers to put your clothing away. Flat screen tv, which seemed to have cable with a lot of channels, at least from what I seen on the piece of paper that was next to it, since we did not use it. And it even had a radio and a alarm clock. Our room also included a safe. The bathroom had two sinks and a shower with an adjustable shower head. Yes the hot water was coming and going away, but not for a long time. The bed was soft and very specious. The property was very nice. It has 2 higher spots from which you can watch the plans. When it comes to the plane noise, yes it can get really loud when a bigger plane comes by, we live by O'Hare one of the busiest airports in the US, so we are used to airplanes but here the planes did get pretty loud at times when the bigger planes came by, but it's not constant and you get used to the small planes after a while and the big planes don't come that often. After a certain time they stop coming, so we did not have any problems when going to sleep. They have 2 lovely dogs and 3 cats, which are very friendly. There is also a pool, which others have mentioned is small, but not many were at the pool anyways, so if you wanted to get into it there was never a problem. They also have a restaurant and a bar at the property. They provide chair for the beach for both the guest visitors to the restaurant and for the hotel guests. Its located at a great spot on the Simpson bay beach, to your left you have other properties and to your right you only have a local restaurant and then it's all empty and good for a walk and you can see the airport really well. What I thought was a good idea, which I have not seen before, they have these containers by the entrance to the beach that contain water, they are also located by the rooms that are in front of the beach where you can dip your feet into to clean off the sand. Simple but great! Wish they also provided a do not disturb sign so we can let the cleaning crew know that we did not need service on certain days. Wi-fi was free. Would definitely come back to this property on my next trip.

Old style Caribbean vibe

Used Mary's Boon for an overnight stay before heading over to Anguilla for a week and couldn't have been more pleased. Check in was easy and efficient and the location is adjacent to the SXM airport. Yes, the jets are loud, but that's pretty much done once the sun sets. Our room was right on the beach and had a nice old-time Caribbean vibe to them. Although we didn't use them, there was a small refrigerator and coffee maker. Good Wi-Fi. The bonus was a cool little bar, and a restaurant that served us the biggest, best mahi we've had in quite some time. Mary's boon is located right next to Karacter beach bar and overlooks the entire stretch of Simpson Bay. I don't know if I'd stay for an extended period, but Mary's Boon is great for a short term stop.

Boon is Best!

My wife and I had such a good time at the hotel. Once coming into the entrance we thought right away it was going to a good place to stay. The grounds were kept up nice. We were early and our room wasn't ready so we went to the bar. We felt at home immediately and were served great drinks and later good food. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The clientele was also friendly and we had a barrel of laughs. The room we had was perfect. Clean and comfortable. The beach was awesome and the water was warm and crystal clear. Plenty off beach chairs and umbrellas. We had to get used to the planes taking off but it didn't take long. It was exciting actually. Only complaint, but not the place's fault, beware of the small mosquitoes, they can be troublesome. You can't feel them on you and their bite is awful if you start to scratch them, which I did. They liked me over my wife lol. Our next stay (which will be soon) I'll come prepared.

Very unique property

We loved Mary's Boon. Small family type atmosphere. Loved the people, service and guests. It's right on top of the airport- we loved that, being airplane and airline geeks. Location easy, beach nice. Rooms are not 5 star, and are clean and kept up.

Great but needs a bit work

We had a 10 day stay here . First place was a 2 bedroom on the ground floor . It really was just a 1 bedroom and a bed in living room. No room for family to have a meal as it had a tiny table and only 2 chairs . A few days later we moved to a one bedroom with a full kitchen that had everything . Thus was much better . The staff is lovely and they can help with whatever you need .
