General review.

Coral Beach Club is such a lovely location to book your ideal vacation trip. Villa's are great and the ocean view is absolutely amazing. Rooms are all newly furnished, pools are nice, service is great and surroundings restaurants such as Big Fish are all something to experience. Highly recommend booking here for any new comer.

Beautiful place

Beautiful place! Very spacious units and gorgeous views from the private pool. Large living rooms and bedrooms. Easy to walk to several good dining options. Wonderful and friendly staff. Would definitely return.

A huge disappointment: The beach was not a beach!

I have stayed at CBB from June 21 to July 3. This has been one of my greatest disappointments as far as vacations go in recent memory. First, I need to give credit for what the hotel did well. The property is beautifully up-kept. The rooms are more spacious than any other hotel room I have seen. Good sleep quality and great view onto the marina. The cleaning staff does a flawless job. The apartment was tastefully furnished. Most of the staff was friendly. My only issue with the property itself is that the WI-FI was wimpy. It only worked in the living room and it didn't have enough bandwidth to have a good quality Skype call. But this I could live with. My main problem was that the place is not what it is advertised to be. This place is advertised as a hotel on the beach. I stayed in the units with marina view and that was OK because the distance between beach view and marina view units is just a 100m. I want to make it clear that is not what I am complaining about. The problem is that the beach is NOT A BEACH! The hotel needs to be advertised as 'by the sea', not as on the beach. I booked this place specifically because I wanted to do my morning swim without having to travel to some other place. I wanted to simply walk to the beach and take a swim in the morning. Try to do that here and you will get lost in the sea weed. The 'beach' was extraordinarily dirty. Apparently this is how it is half of the year due to summer heat that kills the sea weed which then washes onto the shore. All the locals know about this and avoid the place. The hotel profits from the ambiguity that people who book don't know this. So every time you want to swim, expect to have to travel to some other part of the island. That's not a beach vacation! I explained my disappointment to two of the concierges but they seemed to ignore it because I said it in a very polite way. I was polite because everyone there is nice and it didn't seem appropriate to make a fuss. But I shouldn't have to be mean to be taken seriously. I could have booked a place for half or third of the money, if the beach wasn't important for me. Then at the end, at checkout I realized they charged me for an item from what I believed was a welcome package. When I arrived they had a bottle of wine, some nuts, a bug spray, and apparently a bottle of water on the table, although I don't remember the water. I have been buying my own water and food as this was really just an apartment with no hotel services. There was no minibar, for example or room service or anything of the sort. There were just these few items on arrival which seemed to be presented to me as welcome gifts when I checked in. To my surprise, when I checked out, they told me that I had a three dollar balance because I drank a water. I thought they were joking. After $5400 spent on a 12 night package, for a beach that is a dump, they charged me 3 dollars for an item from their welcome package of gifts!? How tacky is that?! In addition to that, the hotel does not have proper customer service you would expect in a four star hotel. This is one of the priciest places on the island. I expected much better customer service. I would like to emphasize that I like the staff. But they were not properly trained and/or their procedures are wrong. For instance they did not try to address my complaint about the beach. In a properly run 4 star hotel the hotel would have done something nice to compensate for my loss. A room upgrade to sea view or some other nice gesture maybe to show that they cared about my loss. Like I said I payed thousands extra for being on the beach. Instead they charged me 3 dollars for a gift!?

Beautiful Resort

Our stay from beginning to end was AMAZING!!! Our trip began in chaos because we traveled on the day there was a bomb threat at St. Maarten's airport which caused us to have to land in San Juan. Due to other security issues we ended up arriving at the resort at 1am when we should've gotten there at 3pm. We were greeted by Valerio and the security guard (didn't get his name). They got us settled into our beautiful villa and was very gracious despite having stayed passed their shift. The Villa: The kitchen was spacious with all Viking appliances fully equipped with everything you need to cook. The bedrooms: We had a 3 bedroom villa. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom and a half shared bathroom in the hallway. The closet space was enormous with a full walk in closet in the Master Bedroom. The rooms that faced the beach were equipped with retractable shutters on the doors for security which was comforting. The common space: We had a full dining room and living room plus a washer and dryer. There was more than enough room for my family of 4 and a baby. Each room including the living room had flat screens with cable TV. This villa could've easily been large enough for 6-8 people. The Deck: Our deck was equipped with a private swimming pool. Beach recliners, table, chairs and BBQ grill. We LOVED not having to share a swimming pool with everyone at the resort. The only complaints I have are: The beach is small and the water wasn't clear. I'm assuming it's due to the storms. The bedrooms or bathrooms should have full length mirrors. The only one is jn the living room. The pool should be heated and it's a bit too deep. The water is full to the maximum, which makes it almost impossible to stand in it. (I'm 5'6") Tips for the Island: Transportation is VERY expensive so expect to spend minimum $25 (US)cab fare to go ANYWHERE. Go grocery shopping for your entire stay in one trip. Visit Anguilla!!!!!! It's about $40 per person round trip on a 20 minute speed boat ride. The beaches there are PHENOMENAL!!!! Don't forget to take your passport with you!! You will need it. Visit Gran Cas on the French side to eat. The restaurants are yummy and cost less than Big Fish restaurant on Coral Beach Resort. A VERY special thank you to Josette for making sure our minor repairs were made and all of our requests were granted. Stephanie: you ROCK and went far and beyond to help us find our friend who lives on the island. Thank you for helping us stay an additional day. I WILL return with my girlfriends or on a couples trip to our SAME villa.

Year 6 and it keeps getting better

6th year at Villa nautilus and things keep getting better. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the amazing front office staff (Welcome back Josette!!). During this trip I was informed that Oyster Pond took over CBC - I was a little nervous at first but once I met Riccardo Perez I knew that this merger was going to put CBC as the premier villa rental in SXM. Riccardo could not have been more of a gentleman, knowing that we are repeat guests and were already booking for year 7 he took the time to come to our villa, introduce himself and let us know some of the exciting changes and improvements that are coming to the beach front villa's - thank you so much for Riccardo for taking the time to talk to us. The villa is still beautifully done, Villa Nautilus is a CBC owned villa - so unlike privately owned villas, I feel that the upkeep is much better. WiFi is super fast, good TV and top of the line appliances. Paulette and Pandora come to clean daily and are absolutely amazing - lovely ladies. Anju will take wonderful care of you when booking your vacation - she is extremely responsive and will find you the proper villa (i.e, oyster pond, beach view, beach front, townhouse) to fit your budget. Shop and Drop was a savior - we ordered our grocery's online and the CBC staff had them all put away before we arrived at the villa. Small note: if you have children bring some floats - the pool is a bit deep and the floats are a bit overpriced at the Oyster Pond Sundries Shop. Small grocer is a a short walk just down the pier and they offer fresh baked good and french bread every morning! Thank you again for an amazing year and we will see you in April!
