St. Maarten makes Instagram Debut as 'VACATIONSTMAARTEN' Lure Vacationers to the island with Enticing Photos

PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten (Oct. 12, 2012) - St. Maarten is luring vacationers to the island by tantalizing their eyes with photos of the destination through the new social media outlet "Instagram."

Instagram is a social media platform that allows people and companies to upload images on the app and followers can "like" and comment on each photo. St. Maarten recently became a member of Instagram and is tempting followers with vivid photos of the island including various scenes of one of the 37 beaches, restaurants, activities, events and more. Followers of the vacationstmaarten Instagram page will be able to comment and like their favorite photos.

"We are excited to reach out to fans and consumers through various social media platforms," said Augusto Priest, interim director of tourism for the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau. "Sometimes visuals create a stronger appeal for consumers and this is exactly what St. Maarten plans to do with Instagram," he noted.
