PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten (Aug. 3, 2011) - The St. Maarten Tourist Bureau is to launch an iPhone application and now invites St. Maarten business owners to partake in this island-wide initiative which will highlight their services through the official St. Maarten iPhone application set to launch in the fall. The app is the ultimate travel planning companion and on-island guide for visitors and allows access to all the island has to offer with just the touch of a button on specific Apple products.

For business owners, it is simple to load company information onto the app by going to and filling out the form for "New Users." Owners will create a username and password which will allow them to register and make any adjustments and enhancements in the future. Once the form is filled out, owners are directed to the Business Information Page where they will fill in the details of their business.

Once submitted, the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau will review for relevance, content, appropriate images and general information. Upon review, the business will be "live" on the St. Maarten iPhone app and the owner will receive a confirmation email. If the submission needs adjustments, companies have the opportunity to go back in and update the information accordingly.

"We encourage business owners to participate in this launch and promote their business on the application. This will also showcase the diversity of the island allowing visitors and St. Maartener's to gain access to island information that's just a touch away," said May-Ling Chun, interim Director of Tourism for the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau.

Available to all iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users, the St. Maarten app will entertain the mind and fingertips with general island information, detailed listings of island activities, attractions, hotels, restaurants, shopping, casinos, nightlife venues and events.

Business owners with questions can contact the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau at 599-542-2337. Download the app by visiting For more information on St. Maarten, visit
